 KOREA SOS Children¡¯s Village |
|
|
have been worked in 132 countries all over the world. We help children who are not able to live together with their parents, and educate them until they can live on their own.
there are three SOS villages, one each is in Daegu, Seoul and Suncheon. In one village, there are usually 10 to 15 families. We live in each separate houses with our own garden.
There are also kindergartens in the villages for all the village's children together with others from outside in the area. But since entering the elementary school, we join public schools near our villages. |

there are 7 to 8 children live in one house and regard each other as brothers and sisters. SOS Children's Village gives us a new life because in addition to a loving family with our mother whom we love clearly, we are also given a good education.
When I come home from school, I still can learn a lot of useful things at home such as playing violin or piano of Taekwondo. Beside that I also attend an aerobic class or an English class.
When I do not understand anything well at school I can either get help from my mother or volunteers after speaking with our village pedagogue. If I have a special talent, I also get good conditions to develop it in our SOS village. |
|
When I enter a middle school, I move to the youth home to live with the youth teacher while the girls live continuously with mothers in the same house. When I talk with the other boys about my career, study, friendship, we seem to understand each other very well.
When I make a decision whether I shall go to the university or take a job, under the whole hearted guidance of both my mother and the office staff I am well-prepared for my future before leaving the village. |

live together in one house. That's why we still safe though we can not live together with our real parents. And since we live together under the same SOS mother we are all sisters and brothers. The big children care for the young, and those trust them so their ability to lead a life in the community is improving.
Sometimes our real parents visit us, and I also go to visit my grandfather. I can talk to my real parents about my life, as well as they can talk with our SOS mother and our village director about me.
In the village I always find good friends with whom I can spend my free time. There are really many nice things in our village.
If you visit us, we would be happy.
